Therapy For Autism
Neurodivergent affirming autism therapy tailored to you or your loved one
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological condition that affects each individual in a unique way. At Inneractions, we understand that no two people on the spectrum are the same—and we celebrate that diversity. That’s why our autism therapy services are thoughtfully personalized to meet the needs, strengths, and goals of every client we support.
Our dedicated team of therapists takes the time to get to know you or your child, so we can create a therapy approach that truly fits. Whether you're looking to build communication skills, increase emotional regulation, or support daily functioning, we’re here to help guide the way—with compassion, expertise, and care.
At Inneractions, our goal is to empower individuals with autism to thrive, not just cope. We're honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
Group Therapy For Autism
Social situations can feel complex and demanding for many autistic individuals. Social interactions can be difficult for them leading to a lack of connection with others. This can cause a lot of mental health problems like depression, anxiety, and more. In group therapy for autism, autistic people can find connections and learn ways to connect to the world that work for them.
Group therapy for autism can be hugely beneficial for children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum. Group therapy gives you the opportunity to meet people with similar interests and life experiences. With Inneractions’ social skills groups kids, teens, and adults can practice important social skills in a safe, welcoming, and fun environment.
What to expect in autism therapy sessions
Getting to know you
In our intake session one of our staff therapists meets you for an hour and a half to learn more about your or your child's interests, strengths, sensory needs, and goals. From there we work together with you to find the best fit to help you meet your therapy goals. That may mean individual therapy, or group therapy.
Personalized support at every step
At Inneractions we don’t want to put you in a box. Every client is unique, which means our approach is just as unique. But, there’s a few consistent parts of our autism therapy to help you understand what to expect. Here's a few things you can expect with autism therapy at Inneractions:
Therapy tailored to developmental level
The developmental level of a client often dictates how therapy works. What works for children may not work for teenagers, and what works for teenagers may not work for adults. This makes it important for an autism therapist to understand their client’s developmental level and what may work best for each client.
Therapy for autistic children: may include play therapy and play interactions with peers.
Therapy for autistic teens: may explore identity and social skills groups.
Therapy for autistic adults: often explores coping strategies, executive functioning, and navigating complex social experiences.
Flexible, neurodiversity-affirming sessions
At Inneractions we meet you where you are. Our counselors are flexible and work to use techniques that are appropriate for age, emotional regulation needs, communication styles, and energy levels.
For child, teen, and adult clients, parent or family involvement is welcome when it serves the client’s needs.
Common Themes We’ve Noticed
Social Awareness
Our social skills groups help our clients be more aware of social cues and give them an opportunity to practice social skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
Social Isolation
In our autism therapy we give clients a place to explore their identity and meet others who may be similar.
Anxiety
Therapy can help with an autistic client’s anxiety whether it’s social anxiety, lifestyle anxiety, or situational.
Depression
Feelings of depression are common for people on the spectrum. At Inneractions you’ll find kind listening ears dedicated to help you work through your depression.
Emotional Awareness
Therapy for emotional awareness can be an important part of many autistic people’s journey helping them to better understand and control strong emotions.
Building Resilience
Our individual and group therapy can help you gain self-confidence and be the best version of yourself no matter what life throws at you.

Strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming autism therapy
Re-understanding autism; a different way of being
Therapy should uplift and empower—not "fix" or conform. We seek to meet clients where they are, in a language they can understand. This means that therapy may look different than “standard” talk therapy. Therapy may incorporate games, artwork, including a client’s interests, and many other creative approaches to meeting clients in their world.
When incorporating a neurodiversity-affirming approach it’s important to recognize client strengths, interests, unique perspectives, and creativity. This approach supports self-advocacy, and an autistic person’s identity development.
Building resilience and confidence while celebrating creativity
Inneractions focuses on helping clients understand themselves and build real-world skills while celebrating creativity. We aim to create an affirming space where autistic clients feel seen and valued, while giving them a skillset to navigate a world built for neurotypical people.
