Find meaningful and deeper social connection through social skills therapy

Social skills are a crucial part of the human experience. Whether it’s making friends, navigating difficult conversations, or even making small talk in between classes at school, social skills are needed by everyone. Making and improving social connections can also help with other issues like anxiety, depression, and more!

If you feel disconnected… you’re not alone

In today’s world social media and screens there have never been more ways to communicate with people across the globe. Despite this, many kids, teens, and adults feel more disconnected than ever before. Navigating social relationships can be scary, confusing, and unfamiliar. This can lead to awkward social interactions, or just avoiding social interactions all together. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone.

There are many reasons someone may need social skills support. Below are some of the reasons we see most often:

  • Making small talk

  • Making or keeping friendships

  • Navigating group settings

  • Understanding non-verbal communication

  • Assertiveness training

  • Social isolation

  • Low self-confidence

  • Finding a romantic partner

Social skill therapy is therapy designed to help clients improve their social functioning. Social skills therapy can help you whether you’re wanting to learn how to better communicate with friends, social skills toolkit development, or even help with social anxiety.

This therapy gives support for social challenges and helps clients develop important tools like active listening, nonverbal communication, improved self-expression, and emotion regulation.

At Inneractions we help clients build social skills both one-on-one and in group settings. Our inclusive social skills programs are designed to help kids, teens, and adults improve their social skills in a fun and engaging way! In individual social skills therapy we may help clients process their fears or anxiety about a variety of social situations. We also may provide one-on-one coaching to help build social skills.

A social skills group can help clients put their social skills into practice with peers to help build confidence and reduce social anxiety. We offer social skills groups to a variety of ages and developmental levels with techniques including games, activities, and conversations processing difficult social situations.

Our approach starts with a comprehensive intake session. In this session one of our staff therapists will sit down with you, and your family if appropriate, to get to know you and your history. We will collaborate with you to help find the best therapeutic fit that meets your goals.

Depending on your intake session you will then start either individual or group therapy. In both individual and group therapy our staff therapists work to meet clients’ individual communication and sensory needs.
