L. Michael Fields MS, LPC

Mike is a parent practitioner in Atlanta, GA who believes, like his dad did, that while we may have to get older, we don’t have to grow up. We’re all at our best when we fell safe, connected, competent, and confident. After his first professional stint as a software engineer Mike felt compelled to change careers and share his hope and obnoxious optimism with others. Mike began working with families and individuals as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) 2009. He remains a firm believer in the power of stories to inspire us, and to promote growth and healing.

Mike embraces a wellness model employing the DIRFloortime® framework using play, both unstructured (following a person’s lead / need) and semi-structured (like cooperative, collaborative, and narrative tabletop games), giving people the opportunity to see themselves as not just the authors, but the heroes of their own stories, shifting the focus from pathology to potential. Mike is rarely seen without some superhero paraphernalia or his trusty ukulele.
