Thomas Adkins MS

Thomas Adkins is a psychotherapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. He received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. Prior to attending graduate school, Thomas received a Bachelor’s of Science in Social and Behavioral Health from the University of West Georgia, and worked with middle-schoolers and high-schoolers to ensure these students receive the community resources and guidance needed to stay in school and achieve their goals.

Thomas has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in both individual and group settings dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, social skills, developmental and learning disorders, and other behavior issues. Thomas wants to listen to those who feel like they are not heard. He strives to become a companion in his client’s journey of self-exploration and self-discovery, by understanding the world as they see it. He believes positive growth and change is contingent on fostering a safe, supportive environment, where clients can be their fully authentic selves, free of judgment. Thomas uses a variety of therapy frameworks to allow his clients to exercise their creative capacities to their fullest potential, including person-centered, play therapy, CBT, and experiential techniques.

Thomas is currently seeing clients in our Marietta location. Thomas is being supervised by S. Alexis Davis, MS, LPC, CPCS.
